Robert Reich is someone who was named one of the "Ten Best Cabinet Members of the Century" by Time magazine. The man served under Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, most notably, Bill Clinton, and he even had a stint as an advisor to President Obama. This all means that Robert Reich is one of, if not the most, knowledgeable person on the planet when it comes to the inner workings of the US government. That's quite a resume and can be reason alone to head to the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco on Wednesday, August 13th, to see him live.
In his later years, Robert Reich has written books about government, and most recently, he's on social media talking about everyday political issues. You can expect this talk to be very up to date, and quite frankly, the Q&A session can turn into a heated debate forum. That makes these lectures interesting, no doubt about it! What does an evening with Robert Reich actually look like? Well, to be honest, no two are the same. It's a hard question to answer, but if you take a look at some of his YouTube videos, you'll get a good sense of where he's coming from. In the last few years, he's mastered the art of talking about complex political issues with a sense of humor. That's probably not something that you associate with a former member of a president's cabinet, but that's Robert Reich for you. This also means the talk is usually not super formal, and he can break down all sorts of issues into a language that everyone can understand. All of this makes this lecture great for students and anyone who might be a bit of a political novice.
Unless you've been living under a rock for almost the last 10 years, now you've probably realized that US politics has turned into an us-versus-them dilemma. With Robert Reich hitting the stage in San Francisco, it's fair to question whether this is a Trump-hate rally. Robert Reich is actually one of the few voices in politics that tells it like it is, despite his political past. You can do that when you're almost 80 years old and really with no direct agenda to get back in the ring. That's another element that makes this lecture worthwhile. Sure, Robert Reich's got a blue past, but it's not the woke blue agenda that he carries. Ultimately, he ends up calling the shots down the middle.
Where to sit inside The Golden Gate Theatre for this one? When there's a lecture like this, it actually might be a good idea to sit closer to the stage. It gives you a better chance to be a part of the Q&A. If you just want to be a fly on the wall, then really any seat in the house is good. Make sure you grab one, though, before they run out.
A lot of the "good" seats at shows like this end up going to media, friends, or whatnot. That means the general public doesn't get the best access. To find top seats for this event, you'll want to be quick about clicking the "Buy Tickets" button.
