Matute tickets

Spanish 80s hits for Mexican Independence Day weekend in San Francisco, anyone? It’s always on these dates when the heart misses the motherland the most. Matute are going to be headlining a show at the Golden Gate Theatre on Saturday, 14th September 2024. They promise to pull out all of the stops. The band sings songs from some of the more prominent names in Spanish pop. That means that you really never know what to expect from them on their Party Monster Tour.

On that night in mid-September, expect them to bust out a few “rancheras.” Those are usually not heavily featured in their set lists. The date, though, and the nostalgia that they’ll likely be able to pull from the crowd could push them in that direction. What you can expect is a ton of “Flans” music; they’ll have Lupita D’Alessio songs playing for sure! Going to the Golden Gate Theater on that Saturday in mid-September is going to be like stepping into any “disco” in Mexico in the mid-80s. Be sure to click the get tickets button to reserve your seat in the house.

Jorge D’Alessio is one of the most well-known names in Mexican music. This is not just because he’s the son of Lupita D’Alessio, who was one of the most popular female artists of her era. He’s worked as a musical director for numerous theater shows, and he was behind the curtains or on the keyboards for many popular 80s pop artists for years. If there was ever a perfect person to launch a cover band, it would’ve had to be him! Most of the artists who you’ll hear songs from on Saturday, September 14th, are ones Jorge’s worked with directly.

One of the best things about these cover shows is that you never know what you’re going to get! Traditionally, Matute sings a lot of Flans music, and they’ll mix in some Menudo for good measure! Matute is that band that you hire to serenade a Mexican wedding. You know that at one point in the night, you’ll want plenty of that 80s pop/rock. Here’s the kicker, though: just like at weddings, they’re playing a potpourri of these different songs. Very rarely will they play any of them to completion unless it’s the end of the set.

What’s great about this structure is that you’re always going to be upbeat. If you want to get up and dance in the aisles on that night at the Golden Gate Theater, you better be ready. You’re not going to have a lot of time to sit down. You and your partner gotta bring your A-game! The Golden Gate Theater is a great venue for a show like this. You’ll see the stage perfectly from anywhere. The theater is set up on different levels, which maximizes the viewing experience. It’s not like it’s too massive to where you’ll be in the nose bleeds. Most spots have enough room for you to get up and wiggle a bit with some of the tunes Matute will be singing on that night. The only issue is … it’s not that big of a theater! If you want to spend Mexican Independence Day weekend with Matute click that get tickets button today!
