The TV series Outlander is based on a novel series by author Diana Gabaldon. The first episode premiered in 2014 and the season successfully aired 16 episodes and captivated audiences with plot. World War 2 nurse Claire Randall who was transported back in time from 1945 to 1743. The series ran for eight seasons from 2014 to 2026. The series opens with the theme song, “Skye Boat Song,” a 19th century Scottish gaelic classic composed by William Ross. The rest of the series’ music was composed by Bear McCreary.
